IMMO Sync & IMMO-OFF — Immobilizer/Key/ECU Alignment & Delete

We perform immobilizer synchronization or, when needed, immobilizer delete (IMMO-OFF) so ECU/BCM/keys work and the vehicle starts.

What is IMMO Sync?

Immobilizer synchronization aligns the ECU/ECM, BCM/Cluster/Gateway, and keys so the anti-theft system authorizes start. It fixes VIN/CS/PIN mismatches, key ID pairing, and rolling code issues after module swaps or key changes.

When do you need it?

  • Donor ECU installed; engine cranks but no start due to immobilizer active.
  • VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat (VAG) platforms where 1-to-1 cloning is unsafe or incomplete — immobilizer must be synced instead.
  • BCM/cluster/gateway replaced and security pairing lost.
  • All keys lost or new keys added → key ID sync required.

VAG Caution — Don’t Full Clone

On many VAG ECUs, a full binary clone can cause no-start or ECU lock. The correct path is transferring only immobilizer data (VIN/CS/PIN/keys) and completing proper adaptation. We handle this safely as part of IMMO Sync.

What is IMMO-OFF (Immobilizer Delete)?

IMMO-OFF disables the immobilizer function inside the ECU’s software. It’s used as a last-resort repair method when:

  • The original ECU is missing or too damaged to read.
  • EEPROM/flash immobilizer data are corrupted/unreadable due to water, fire, or failed programming.
  • 1-to-1 clone or IMMO sync isn’t possible because critical security data are unrecoverable.

IMMO-OFF lets the donor ECU run without security handshake. It’s offered only where legally permitted and technically supported; normal IMMO pairing is always preferred when possible.

Pros

  • Correct fix for immobilizer mismatch after swaps.
  • Safe alternative for VAG instead of risky full clones.
  • IMMO-OFF provides a path when original ECU/data are unrecoverable.
  • Avoids copying over corruption or bad tunes.

Cons / Notes

  • IMMO Sync and/or IMMO-OFF still require bench work and often on-car adaptation.
  • Some brands need online access or special tools for final pairing.
  • IMMO-OFF is not universal and may not be legal in all regions; offered only for legitimate repair.

Which path is right?

  • ECU Cloning — original readable; want plug-and-play. Learn more →
  • Virginization — start clean with donor ECU; adapt on car. Learn more →
  • IMMO Sync — align modules/keys after swaps or on VAG; avoids full clones.
  • IMMO-OFF — immobilizer delete when original ECU/data can’t be recovered.
  • VIN Correction — VIN mismatch but immobilizer is fine. VIN Correction →

What to send for IMMO Sync / IMMO-OFF

  1. Donor ECU (and original if available) with exact part numbers.
  2. Required immobilizer mate modules (BCM, cluster, gateway) — we’ll confirm after part-number review.
  3. Keys for enrollment (if supported/requested).
  4. Vehicle info: year/make/model, engine, VIN, and fault history.
  5. Order # / quote # inside the box.
1) Verify & Request
We review part numbers; advise what modules/keys to send.
2) Ship Modules
Send ECU + required IMMO mates + keys + vehicle info.
3) Bench Work
We extract/fix IMMO data or apply IMMO-OFF if required.
4) On-Car Adapt/Delete
Installer completes adaptation or installs ECU with IMMO disabled.

IMMO Sync & IMMO-OFF FAQs

Is 1-to-1 cloning safe on VAG?
Not always. Many VW/Audi ECUs require IMMO data-only sync; full clones can trigger component protection or brick. We’ll guide the correct method.
When is IMMO-OFF used?
When original ECU is missing or its IMMO data are unreadable/corrupted. IMMO-OFF disables the immobilizer in the donor ECU so the car can run.
Is IMMO-OFF legal?
It’s jurisdiction-dependent and offered only for legitimate repair where permitted. Normal IMMO sync is preferred whenever possible.
Turnaround time?
Bench work typically 24–48 hrs after delivery (plus shipping). On-car adaptation varies by shop and platform.
