Kia ECU / ECM / PCM Services

Karman Auto offers Kia engine control unit services via mail-in — supporting cloning, VIN programming, and related ECU work for many Kia models. Coverage depends on ECU part number, hardware revision, and donor compatibility. In many cases, cloning can avoid dealer ECU replacement when a compatible donor is available.

Not Sure Which Service to Choose?

If you are unsure which option matches your Kia module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module, full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number before you order and ship.

Compatibility Warning

ECU services depend on the exact controller family and hardware revision. Mismatched part numbers, different processors, or different hardware revisions typically cannot be cloned 1:1.

What to Ship

  • Your original Kia module (the failed/locked unit), clearly marked “ORIGINAL”
  • If applicable: a donor module, clearly marked “DONOR” — same part number family and hardware revision as the original
  • Your order receipt printed, or order number written on a slip in the box
  • Your return shipping address
  • Ship to the address shown on your order receipt at checkout

FAQ

Which Kia ECUs are supported? Coverage varies by model and year. Send a photo of your ECU label if you want us to confirm support for your specific unit before you order.

Do I need to ship both modules? For cloning, generally yes — ship your original ECU plus a donor ECU of the same hardware family. For VIN programming the original alone is typically enough.

Will my keys still work after a clone? In most clone services we transfer supported VIN and immobilizer data when readable, so existing keys typically continue to work.
