If you are unsure which option matches your Mercedes module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module (the one you want serviced), full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker, and a photo of the connector pinout if visible. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.
Compatibility Warning
Gateway cloning requires a donor gateway of the same part number prefix and same hardware revision. CGW and ZGW are different module generations and cannot be cross-cloned. Send us a photo of the gateway module label before purchasing a donor.

- Your original Mercedes module (the failed/locked unit), clearly marked “ORIGINAL”
- If applicable: a donor module, clearly marked “DONOR” — same part number family and hardware revision as the original

What does the gateway clone preserve? VIN, SCN coding where readable, coded options, and personalization data.
How do I know if my gateway has failed? Typical gateway failures show as multiple unrelated modules going offline at once on the diagnostic tool, or as “no communication” errors with the central network. A scan that returns no data from any module is a strong gateway-failure indicator.
Does the gateway clone need dealer programming after install? In most cases no — the clone preserves the SCN coding and the donor presents the diagnostic tool with the same data as the original.
