Subaru Airbag Module Services
Subaru Airbag / SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) module services — supported crash-data reset, hard-code clear, ODS occupant-sensor reset, and SRS module repair across many Subaru models from roughly 2000–2025, depending on module type, part number, and processor. Often used after airbag deployment, an accident, salvage rebuild, or persistent SRS light. Coverage depends on the specific airbag module hardware — send label photos if you want us to confirm support for your specific unit before ordering. We service the electronic module only — never deployed airbag inflators (HazMat).
Available Services
Not Sure Which Service to Choose?
If you are unsure which option matches your Subaru module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering:
- Full label of the original module (the one you want serviced)
- Full label of the donor module, if you already have one
- The part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker
- Photo of the connector pinout if visible
We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.
Compatibility Warning
Part number and hardware revision compatibility matter. Cloning and many programming services only work when the original module can be read AND a compatible donor of the same hardware family is available — for example, Denso to Denso, Hitachi to Hitachi, SH7058 to SH7058, SH72531 to SH72531. Mismatched part numbers, different processors, or different hardware revisions typically cannot be cloned. If unsure, send label photos so we can verify compatibility before you ship.
What to Ship
- Your original Subaru module (the failed/locked unit), clearly marked “ORIGINAL”
- If applicable: a donor module, clearly marked “DONOR” — same part number family and hardware revision as the original
- Your order receipt printed, or order number written on a slip in the box
- Your return shipping address
- Ship to the address shown on your order receipt at checkout (we operate from 2 locations and route based on tool availability and turnaround)

FAQ
What is airbag module crash reset?
When a Subaru airbag deploys (or sometimes when an impact sensor detects a near-deployment event), the airbag/SRS module writes permanent crash data to its EEPROM. After that, the module locks itself and may refuse to allow new airbag deployments — meaning the safety system is offline. Crash reset, when supported, clears that EEPROM block so the module can be reused with new airbag components.
Do I need to replace the airbag module after a crash?
In many cases the module hardware itself is fine and only the crash-data EEPROM is locked. Our reset service typically returns supported modules to working state at a fraction of the cost of a new OEM Subaru airbag computer. Some severely damaged modules with unreadable EEPROM cannot be reset and would require replacement.
What is the ODS / Occupant Detection Sensor?
Subaru passenger-seat ODS (Occupant Detection System) is the sensor that decides whether to enable the passenger airbag based on occupant weight and position. If you get a “passenger airbag off” warning that will not clear, or after replacing the passenger seat, the ODS sensor module often needs reset or recalibration. Coverage depends on the specific ODS module type — confirm with photos before ordering.
Will my new airbag deploy after reset?
When the reset is successful and a new airbag module is installed correctly, the SRS system should function as designed in a future impact. Always have the system inspected by a qualified technician after any airbag work.
How do I ship a Subaru airbag module?
Disconnect the battery, wait 10 minutes for capacitor discharge, then remove the airbag module (the computer box with connectors — usually under the center console or under the passenger dash). Pack in anti-static bag and bubble wrap. DO NOT ship deployed airbag inflators (HazMat regulations prohibit this). Only ship the electronic module.
Turnaround?
Same-day reset for modules received before 2pm in most cases. Typical 2–4 business days ship-to-running.
