Mercedes Airbag / SRS Module Services

After a deployment, the Mercedes airbag / SRS module locks crash data into the EEPROM. Replacing the airbag module with a new one is one path; the other is to bench-reset the existing module back to a pre-crash state once the deployed components have been replaced. We perform Mercedes airbag module crash reset and virginization on the bench. This service is intended for qualified SRS technicians and professional installers.

Not Sure Which Service to Choose?

If you are unsure which option matches your Mercedes module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module (the one you want serviced), full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker, and a photo of the connector pinout if visible. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.

Compatibility Warning

Airbag reset requires the SRS components on the vehicle to already be replaced before the module is re-installed. Resetting crash data on a module that is going back into a car with deployed bags or damaged seatbelt pretensioners is not safe and not supported. Confirm the deployed parts have been replaced before ordering.

What to Ship

  • Your original Mercedes module (the failed/locked unit), clearly marked “ORIGINAL”
  • If applicable: a donor module, clearly marked “DONOR” — same part number family and hardware revision as the original
  • Your order receipt printed, or order number written on a slip in the box
  • Your return shipping address
  • Ship to the address shown on your order receipt at checkout (we operate from 2 locations and route based on tool availability and turnaround)

FAQ

What does the airbag reset include? Bench EEPROM read, reset of crash flags back to pre-crash state, and the module returned ready for re-installation into a vehicle with new SRS components.

Will the airbag light go away? If the deployed SRS components have been replaced and no other faults exist, the airbag light should clear after the reset and a successful self-test on reinstall.

Can you reset modules from any year? Coverage runs roughly 1998 through 2012 for Mercedes airbag modules with some later models supported case by case. Send us the module part number to confirm.
