Volkswagen ECU Clone Service
Volkswagen engine control units across the ME, MED, EDC, and Simos families can be cloned at the chip level on the bench. We read the original ECU Flash and EEPROM and write every byte onto a compatible donor of the same hardware family — including VIN, component protection data, immobilizer pairing, and any aftermarket tuning overlay where readable. Cloning is the most common alternative to dealer replacement when the original ECU has failed but is still readable.

Not Sure Which Service to Choose?
If you are unsure which option matches your Volkswagen module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module (the one you want serviced), full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker, and a photo of the connector pinout if visible. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.
Compatibility Warning
Cloning requires a donor ECU of the same hardware family — same part number prefix, same processor, same hardware revision. MED9.1 to MED9.1, Simos 18.1 to Simos 18.1, EDC17 variant to matching EDC17 variant. Mismatched donors will not clone successfully.

FAQ
What does the clone preserve? Flash and EEPROM copied 1:1 — including VIN, component protection where readable, immobilizer pairing, software calibration, and any aftermarket tuning overlay.
Will I need VCDS / ODIS coding after the install? In most cases no — the donor presents the diagnostic tool with the same data as the original.
What if I want to remove the immobilizer at the same time as the clone? Several VW ECUs support a combined clone-or-immo-off service. Send us your ECU label and we will confirm.
