Mercedes ISM / Intelligent Shift Module Services (FBS4)
The ISM (Intelligent Shift Module) is the electronic gear selector on 2014+ Mercedes (FBS4 era). It is paired to the car like the ECU and the EIS — a donor ISM will not work plug-and-play. We perform Mercedes ISM programming and clone services on the bench for FBS4 vehicles. If your shifter shows a fault, will not move out of P, or has been replaced with a used donor, this is the service to ask about.

If you are unsure which option matches your Mercedes module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module (the one you want serviced), full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker, and a photo of the connector pinout if visible. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.
Compatibility Warning
ISM is an FBS4-only module (roughly 2014 and newer). Pre-FBS4 Mercedes do not have an ISM in this form. Confirm your model year and provide a photo of the ISM label before ordering.

- Your original Mercedes module (the failed/locked unit), clearly marked “ORIGINAL”
- If applicable: a donor module, clearly marked “DONOR” — same part number family and hardware revision as the original

FAQ
What does the ISM service cover? ISM read, clone onto a compatible donor, FBS4 pairing data preserved when readable, and a pre-clone backup filed under your order number.
Can a used ISM be installed without service? No — a used FBS4 ISM is paired to the original car and will not work plug-and-play in a different car. Either clone your original to the donor, or virginize the donor and re-pair it via the dealer.
What symptoms indicate an ISM problem? Shifter stuck in P, intermittent gear selection, dash showing transmission fault, or the car refusing to start despite no other obvious problem. Confirm via a diagnostic scan before ordering.
