The Mercedes anti-theft chain — DAS (Drive Authorization System), EIS / EZS (Electronic Ignition Switch / Elektronisches Zundschloss), and ESL (Electronic Steering Lock) — must talk cleanly to the ECU before the engine will run. When any link in that chain fails or is replaced, the chain has to be re-synced. If you are unsure which option matches your Mercedes module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module (the one you want serviced), full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker, and a photo of the connector pinout if visible. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.
Compatibility Warning
EIS / EZS and ESL service requires correct identification of the module generation. The cloning service covers roughly 2000 through 2013 Mercedes EIS. FBS4 (2014+) follows a different process. Send us photos of the EIS module label, the ECU label, and an OBD scan if you have one before ordering.

FAQ
What is the difference between EIS and EZS? EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) and EZS (Elektronisches Zundschloss) are the English and German names for the same module. The Mercedes service documentation calls it EZS; the diagnostic tools usually call it EIS.
What does ESL do? ESL (Electronic Steering Lock) is the column-mounted steering lock that is part of the DAS chain. ESL failures show up as steering not unlocking or as a DAS / immobilizer fault.
What is all-keys-lost programming? When all keys to a Mercedes / Dodge Sprinter (or similar) are lost, we can program a new key on the bench by reading the EIS and writing a new key file. Confirm the EIS is readable before ordering.
What does Sprinter start error repair cover? Sprinter and Vito CR1, CR2, and CR3 generations have a known start-error fault tied to the EIS / ECU communication. We repair this on the bench by re-pairing the donor ECU to the original ignition switch.
