Volvo Immobilizer / CEM / Key Services

Volvo immobilizer is handled by the CEM (Central Electronic Module) on most modern Volvos. CEM holds the immobilizer master data and authenticates keys. This hub covers immobilizer-specific services including CEM immobilizer reset and key programming.

Available Services

This hub is reserved for upcoming services. Contact us if you need this work — we can provide a quote based on your specific module and part number.

Not Sure Which Service to Choose?

If you are unsure which option matches your Volvo module, the safest path is to email or text us photos before ordering: full label of the original module (the one you want serviced), full label of the donor module if you already have one, the part number, hardware revision, and software/calibration sticker, and a photo of the connector pinout if visible. We will confirm whether the service is supported for your specific part number and hardware revision before you order and ship.

Compatibility Warning

CEM immobilizer service requires correct identification of the CEM generation. P2 vs P1 vs P3 are different.

What to Ship

  • Your original Volvo module (the failed/locked unit), clearly marked “ORIGINAL”
  • If applicable: a donor module, clearly marked “DONOR” — same part number family and hardware revision as the original
  • Your order receipt printed, or order number written on a slip in the box
  • Your return shipping address
  • Ship to the address shown on your order receipt at checkout (we operate from 2 locations and route based on tool availability and turnaround)

FAQ

Why is the immobilizer handled by CEM? Volvo combines body control and immobilizer master into the CEM on most modern Volvos. ECU does not store immobilizer data on its own — it queries the CEM.
