BMW and Mini SRS / ACSM Modules We Reset

BMW labels its airbag unit the ACSM (Airbag Control Sensor Module) on F- and G-chassis cars, and MRS (Multiple Restraint System) on older E-chassis. Our bench resets every major generation: MRS2 on E39, E46 and E53 (Bosch 0285001406 and family), MRS4 on E60, E90, E70 and E71 (65776977143, 65776974877, 65779178338), ACSM2 on F-chassis 2010 to 2013 (65776966549, 65776967197, 65779124006), ACSM3 on 2013 to 2019 F-chassis (65779263783, 65779314223, 65779362157) and ACSM5 on the current G-chassis: G20, G30, G05 and G01 (65776846523, 65776846524). Mini R55, R56, R60 and F56 share the same Bosch architecture; our reset works on those too.

What the Reset Clears on BMW and Mini

Crash data, rollover flag, both stage-1 and stage-2 deployment timestamps, knee-airbag fire counter, active-headrest record (F-chassis), seat-belt pretensioner deployment log on both sides, side-curtain squib history and the peripheral satellite crash-sensor event record. VIN, ISN immobilizer key, vehicle order (FA or VO), coding index and integration level are preserved exactly as BMW programmed them: the module drops back in the car and ISTA or Rheingold recognizes it as the original unit with zero DTCs.

Symptoms and Fault Codes Our Reset Addresses

The airbag warning lamp is illuminated and cannot be cleared with a scan tool. ISTA reports fault A0D1 crash stored in ACSM, A0D2 deployment command recorded, A0C5 rollover recorded or the blanket restraint system not operational service required message on the iDrive central display. Some F-chassis cars also drop the front passenger airbag OFF warning permanently on. All of these clear after our reset provided the airbags, pretensioners and any damaged impact sensors on the vehicle have been replaced.

Module Removal and Turnaround

The ACSM lives under the center console on most BMWs: pull the shift boot, remove the two 10mm nuts, disconnect the yellow locking connectors after the battery has been disconnected for ten minutes, and the module comes out. On Mini the module is under the center armrest. Bench turnaround is 24 hours; including return shipping most customers see their module back within 72 hours. Open a work order via the nationwide mail-in contact page with the VIN, chassis code and module part number. Before and after scan reports accompany every return shipment.
