Mitsubishi SRS Modules We Reset

Mitsubishi SRS platform is supplied primarily by Mitsubishi Electric (Melco) with occasional Denso and Autoliv builds on specific model lines. Modules we handle every week include units from the Lancer (CS, CT, CY9 2002 to 2017) and Lancer Evolution IX and X, Outlander (CU, CW, GF 2003 to 2021) and Outlander Sport and RVR, Eclipse and Eclipse Cross, Pajero and Montero (V60, V70, V80, V90), Galant (DE, EA), Endeavor (LM7) and Mirage G4. Representative part numbers from our bench include 8635A000, 8635A044, 8635A128, 8635A259, 8635A360, 8635A432, MR580355, MR995045 and MR586825. Supersessions and regional variants are common: a photo of your sticker on the contact page is the fastest way to confirm compatibility.

What We Wipe on a Mitsubishi Reset

Hard crash flag (the one-way EEPROM bit that a scan tool cannot clear), rollover event record, front impact severity log, pretensioner deployment counters on both sides, side-curtain squib-circuit fault history, knee-airbag deployment record on Outlander PHEV and Pajero, and the occupant-classification fault store on passenger-seat modules. Coding, VIN, production date and model-specific calibration all stay untouched. MUT-III and Autel MaxiSys recognize the reset module as a clean OEM unit post-install.

Common DTCs This Service Addresses

B1000 crash event stored, B1014 driver pretensioner deployment recorded, B1015 passenger pretensioner deployment recorded, B1020 rollover detected, B1C00 SRS warning lamp ON deploy history present, and the generic U0151 lost communication with SRS module that some vehicles set when the module stops responding after a crash. All clear after our reset assuming the airbags, pretensioners and damaged front and side crash sensors on the vehicle have been replaced.

Ship, Reset, Reinstall

The SRS ECU on most Mitsubishis sits under the center console: on the Lancer Evo X and Outlander it is directly under the shifter on a steel bracket. Disconnect the battery for ten minutes, remove two 10mm bolts, disconnect the yellow locking CAN connectors and the module is loose. Bag in antistatic film and ship overnight. Bench turnaround is 24 to 48 hours. A written before and after scan log accompanies every return. Start a work order on the mail-in contact page with VIN, model year and the part number from the module sticker.
